Did you know that Bodden Town was the first settlement on Grand Cayman?
The former capital of the Cayman Islands, Bodden Town was named after a government leader, William Bodden. Bodden Town was once a popular place for pirates to attack. As a result, defensive strategies were put into place to protect the town. It is now famous for the remains of a 4-mile long wall and a cannon.
Tourists of Bodden Town can also visit Mission House, a historic site used by missionaries and teachers. Though Hurricane Ivan destroyed the original Mission House in 2004, it has been carefully replicated, allowing visitors to be transported back in time.
