March is Ocean Conservation Month here in the Cayman Islands led by the Guy Harvey Ocean Foundation. While most of us enjoy the ocean on a daily basis, our effect on the local marine life and ocean environment is often given less attention.
Ocean Conservation Month provides activities and events to get the public, especially younger audiences, excited about protecting our sea. Enjoy the “shark talk” series, documentaries at the Camana Bay Cinema, and a beach clean-up on Saturday, March 17th. The newest documentary produced by the foundation is about Stingray City and the well-being of the rays.
