Fall Festivals on Grand Cayman

You wouldn’t be too far off the mark if you called fall “the Season of Festivals” on Grand Cayman. With the weather in much of the U.S. and Canada starting to take on a chill, it’s only natural that thoughts turn to milder and warmer climes to take part in everything from triathlons to plundering with Pirates.

Here’s a selection to rouse your interest, and get you thinking ahead to what a great combination a trip to Seven Mile Beach and Aqua Bay Club could make with a season favorite festival or event.

October:

1st-31st – Cayman Restaurant Month
Cayman Restaurant Month 2014 is your chance to re-visit your favourite restaurant or branch out and try something new with great specials throughout the island.

November:

2nd – The Cayman Islands Triathlon

All you need to enter is a bathing suit, a bicycle, helmet, and running shoes! Race solo, or as part of a team.  www.triathlon.ky

12th – 22nd  – Pirates Week

A swashbuckling good time for all three Islands! The festivities continue for eleven fun-filled days of pirate parades, music, street dancing, competitions, wonderful local food and drink, kids day, sports events, Heritage Days, and fireworks displays. www.piratesweekfestival.com

 December:

6th – Cayman 27’s Parade of Lights 
Join an evening of celebration as beautifully lit up boats sail into the harbour in Camana Bay. Enjoy food, drink, a Christmas market, live music, and a fireworks display.

7th –  Cayman Islands Marathon

Full and half marathons, four person relays and a kid’s fun run with the beautiful scenic backdrop of the Island and Caribbean Sea. www.caymanislandsmarathon.com

Don’t’ forget about Christmas and New Year’s in December; because we certainly don’t. With all this activity, it’s best to book early. We’ll be waiting.
